About a month ago I posted a question on this site - Is Miami still in decline? After 4 games I think I know the answer: the 'Canes are half-way back...
Specifically, the offense looks like it's ready for prime time; the defense? Ah, not so much. Admittedly there are tons of freshmen and sophomores on the defense, which accounts for the high number of mistakes and, to a lesser extent, is certainly a factor in controlling the line of scrimmage (or not). Give those players some more experience, more time in the dining hall and in the weight room and in the film room and the defense is bound to improve. For more on this, please see my blog post - Are the ACC Football Powers Back?
Something else we outsiders have noticed about the Hurricanes - you guys like a little sizzle with your steak, don't you? Winning 42-10 isn't your style - it has to be a come-from-behind, 42-36 overtime thing. That's why in another post I call Miami one of the "drama queens" of the ACC (along with my Hokies!) - ACC Strength: Style of Play.
I wish you guys all the best this weekend against NC State (watch out, they are better than you think!). Until we meet in Coral Gables - Hokie Mark
