Canes Dual Sport Recruit Still on Track to Join Miami in December

Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

There have been many rumors surrounding dual sport start Derrick Griffin and whether or not he is still coming to Miami to be a Cane. He told SOTU he is and helped clarify what has changed since he started prep school.

We had a chance to speak with Derrick Griffin last night and asked him if the rumors of him leaving his prep school were true. His response was:

Yea I did but everythings going to be good, I'm taking online classes [at a] national honor school then I take the ACT in October will be in Miami in December [for] good.

Griffin who was a star receiver in Football and Power Forward in Basketball out of Rosenberg (TX) Terry High School was highly recruited but his ACT score needed some improvement to get through the NCAA clearinghouse. If all pans out as he plans Canes fans could see him on campus in the spring.
