FSU, on the whole, has put up some pretty gaudy offensive numbers. Go ahead, I'll wait why you look. Pretty cool, huh? They put up a crap ton of points, Winston has been close to otherworldly, and as a team they have only struggled once, against Boston College, which ultimately ended up a two TD victory.
But let's ignore those offensive statistics (which is probably dumb, but follow along with me here for a moment) and focus on the FSU pass defense, specifically the passing statistics against them. (I excluded the statistics for Bethune & Nevada because I went with ACC teams only.)
- Pitt: 15/28, 201 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
- BC:19/29, 197 yds, 4 TD, 2 INT
- MD: 15/32, 201, 0 TD, 0 INT
- Clemson: 22/45, 203, 1 TD, 2 INT
- NCST: 17/33, 128, 0 TD, 2 INT
Those aren't great numbers. Granted, some of it may be a factor of gunning at the end of games in a valiant attempt to stop the beat down, but it's still something to take note of.
If you're curious, Morris on the year (excluding FAU & Savannah St.) is 76/126 (60%), for 1221 yards, giving him 9.6 YPA and 16 YPC.
What the hell does any of this mean? I don't know. Our team frustrates me and FSU scares me. Kill me in the comments.
