Let me start by saying that if Kenny leaves for the draft (which is pretty likely), obviously this is all completely irrelevant. However, I was looking at some of the Hurricane player pages today and noticed something interesting about our stretch 4.
As a Redshirt (2010-11)
After transferring to Miami from Florida, the big man sat out the 2010-11 season ... Expected to provide front-court depth with his size and shot-blocking ability ... After a promising freshman campaign at UF, played in just eight games as a sophomore before having surgery on his back on Feb. 10 ... Was granted a medical hardship for the 2009-10 season and has three years of eligibility for the Hurricanes.
So, if I have this right
- 08-09 (UF) 32GP, 1st year of eligibility used
- 09-10 (UF) 8 GP, NO eligibility used, medical hardship
- 10-11 Transfer, redshirt
- 11-12 32GP, 2nd year of eligibility used
- 12-13 23GP (as of today), 3rd year of eligibility used
- 13-14 ...eligible?
Looks to me like he's eligible to come back next year if he doesn't enter the draft. I don't know if no one's noticed this or that everyone just assumes he's going to enter the draft, because pretty much everyone's acting like the big 5 are gone next year. Just something to keep in mind.
