We had the opportunity here at State of The U to ask Combo Forward MiKyle McIntosh about his recruitment. He's got an offer from the Canes and UCLA and other big schools like UF, Kansas and Kentucky have shown interest in recent weeks according to Adam Zagoria's February 4th ZagsBlog. See what this versatile 2013 athlete had to say.
SOTU: What schools do you have offers from?
MM: UCLA, Miami U, Illinois St., UConn, Duquense and others.
SOTU: Which schools are top of your list?
MM: Don't know as yet who is up top, I'd have to say UCLA cause they are the only visit I went on.
SOTU: have you taken any other official visits yet? Do you plan any others?
MM: I have taken (just the) visit to UCLA, haven't confirmed other ones yet
SOTU: When do you expect to make a decision?
MM: When I'm comfortable enough to make it.
SOTU: What position do you think you'll play at the next level?
MM: I think I'll play the 2-3 but more so (the) 3 spot.
SOTU: What are you looking for in the college you will end up at?
MM: I'm looking for a family setting, I'm big on family, also a good place where I can make an impact.
SOTU: What is your true height and weight?
MM: I'm 6'6, 230 lbs.
SOTU: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a ball player?
MM: I'm a good slasher... I can facilitate. I need to shoot the ball better & (work on) my handle.
SOTU: When did Miami start recruiting you?
MM: Since grade 10 but they just got serious this year.
SOTU: Does the availability of playing time at Miami (graduating 5 seniors) appeal to you?
MM: Yes it does but I also got to look at who they are bringing in to see if I will get to play like I'd like to.
SOTU: What do you think of Miami's success this year and do you plan to take a visit to their campus?
MM: I'm happy with (their) success, they are showing what playing like a team looks like. Yes I do plan on taking (a visit), not sure when yet.
SOTU: Do you have anything else you want to tell the fans or coaches of the schools that are recruiting you?
MM: I promise to dedicate my time to making the team better & giving it my all. I hope to make a lot of life friends.
Thanks to MiKyle for spending time with us and we wish him much success at the next level! Here are a couple of videos of this talented young man.
