Hurricane Watch '14: The Boards

Hi Canes fans!

I joined SOTU last year, but I haven't done any posting on the site. Each year, I found myself struggling to keep track of the hundreds of UM football prospects (179 last year). I don't think I'm alone. Recruiting can and does change very quickly. We're talking about 17-18 yr. old young men. They can change their minds at the drop of a hat. How did many of us get surprised by Alex Collins' decision to sign at Arkansas? Try lack of information. Had we each had the time to scour the web everyday, we probably would not have been AS surprised at his decision.

That's where "Hurricane Watch" comes into the picture. The idea of Hurricane Watch is to aggregate news coverage for Canes' fans. You will be able to track the media coverage on your favorite prospects without the time and work. Hurricane Watch will also organize prospects by position for you. If the "U" has offered a scholarship to a young man, I'll track his coverage for you. All you have to do is check in on SOTU and FanPosts to get the latest news.

I'm not on staff. I'm not a coach or a scout. I'm just a fan like you.

I am a Miami alum, living in Texas. Thank goodness for the internet. It's really hard getting Canes recruiting information in Longhorn/Aggie/Bear/Horned Frog/Mustang/Red Raider country. To keep up with recruiting at the "U", I read a lot. So, if I'm doing it for myself, why not share it with other Canes fans?

I ask that you give me your honest and candid feedback on this idea. Thanks for your time..

Make It A Great Day!
