The Miami Hurricanes, can they get back to "The U"? The Hurricanes are the clear cut favorite in the ACC to win the coastal. Miami has one of the most explosive offenses led by senior quarterback, Stephen Morris. Morris finished off the last few games with ten touchdowns and zero interceptions. He just gets better and better.
Heisman Canidate? Randy "Duke" Johnson the sophomore who put on a show freshman year backing up running back Mike James. Duke averaged about 5 yards a carry rushing for over 900 yards and being one of the top kick returners in the nation! Last running back to win the heisman takes you back to Mark Ingram the coming out party for Johnson will be week two Vs the old time Miami rival, the Gators, in sun life stadium. Duke loves his fans, every game putting on a clinic whether its dodging tackles running for sixty yard touchdowns. His ability to run through tackles brings you back to the old days, I'm Clinton Portis, McGahee, Gore, etc. let the heisman billboard began Miami, we got some Canes over here, woosh, woosh!
Can the defense hold up: No question Miami is going to be better on defense, 20 returning starters. The Hurricanes defense is led by junior linebacker, Denzel Perryman. The phenomenal beast recorded two picks in the spring game looking better every day. If he can stay healthy Miami can really turn some heads. The player I see emerging as one of the physical safety's, Deon Bush. Deon will have a much better year than his freshman year. Miami could be easily turned a 7-5 season last year into a 9-3 with less shootouts. The U will bounce back and have an amazing year on defense.
Miami will be much better from last year and will make a BCS bowl game. The Canes offense is incredible, now it's just waiting time! If you're a Miami Hurricanes fan you have every right to be excited!
