The #UNite Spring game saw not only the unveiling of the Renewed Nike Jerseys, but also forward movement on the recruiting trail.
First, news came of impact defensive end and #Cane legacy Scott Patchan committing to Miami
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>DE from Tampa. RT <a href="https://twitter.com/scott_patchan">@scott_patchan</a>: I Have Officially Committed to the University of Miami ! <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Hurricanes&src=hash">#Hurricanes</a> 🙌 <a href="http://t.co/MGdFkusDFp">pic.twitter.com/MGdFkusDFp</a></p>— Safid Deen (@Safid_Deen) <a href="https://twitter.com/Safid_Deen/statuses/455060484958343168">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>

Quick analysis from Peter Ariz of CanesInSight.com
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Scott Patchan is a great pickup for Miami. Canes had led for a while.</p>— Peter Ariz (@PeterAriz) <a href="https://twitter.com/PeterAriz/statuses/455063740807802880">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And, of course, the bat signal from Recruiting Coordinator Brennan Carroll
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23WelcomeToTheU&src=hash">#WelcomeToTheU</a> !!!</p>— Brennan Carroll (@brennanpcarroll) <a href="https://twitter.com/brennanpcarroll/statuses/455062754240782336">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And, since I know you're wondering, here are Patchan's hudl highlights
Then, since that wasn't enough, highly touted RB Dexter Williams committed to Miami as well
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>THAT'S 2!! WOOOO!!!!! RT <a href="https://twitter.com/DexterW_22">@DexterW_22</a>: Just committed to the university of Miami <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23TheU&src=hash">#TheU</a></p>— StateOfTheU.com (@TheStateOfTheU) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheStateOfTheU/statuses/455067663153528833">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Dexter Williams >> RT <a href="https://twitter.com/DexterW_22">@DexterW_22</a>: Its great to be a CANE!!! <a href="http://t.co/oAFJaVQzwH">pic.twitter.com/oAFJaVQzwH</a></p>— StateOfTheU.com (@TheStateOfTheU) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheStateOfTheU/statuses/455075242227302400">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Williams' own words about his commitment:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>RT <a href="https://twitter.com/LukeStampini">@LukeStampini</a>: Top247 RB Dexter Williams: "Its good to be a Cane"</p>— StateOfTheU.com (@TheStateOfTheU) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheStateOfTheU/statuses/455070104561410049">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And, of course, the bat signal
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>There it is RT <a href="https://twitter.com/brennanpcarroll">@brennanpcarroll</a>: <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23WelcomeToTheU&src=hash">#WelcomeToTheU</a> x2!!!!</p>— StateOfTheU.com (@TheStateOfTheU) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheStateOfTheU/statuses/455078804541931520">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Want a bit of analysis from our other recruiting guy, Joe Garcia? Of course you do
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Archibald, Patchan, and Williams commitment are a big step in the right direction after the lackluster start to the class. Love it.</p>— Joe Garcia (@JGJr9) <a href="https://twitter.com/JGJr9/statuses/455075250943037440">April 12, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And, when you see Williams' highlight tape, you'll know why Joe and JN Gerhart (a cane fan on twitter) have been the main 2 people hoping that Williams would end up in this class for Miami.
So, with that, the Class of 2015 now stands at 9 commits, and momentum seems to be positive. As the Al Golden Football camps approach, look for Miami to make a serious move towards getting more commits to join this class.
But, for now...
WELCOME TO THE U, SCOTT AND DEXTER!!!!!
