CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The Miami Hurricanes baseball team, coming off its second consecutive ACC road sweep, climbed as high as No. 20 in the national polls released Monday.
Miami (21-12, 11-4 ACC) rose from No. 24 to No. 20 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s weekly rankings. The Hurricanes also re-entered the Baseball America poll (No. 24) and Perfect Game’s weekly rankings (No. 25) after a two-week absence from both polls.
The Hurricanes traveled to English Field in Blacksburg, Va., this past weekend and captured three straight games against Virginia Tech, extending their winning streak to a season-long eight games.
Miami, which had never before captured back-to-back ACC three-game road sweeps since joining the conference in 2004, is just one game behind No. 3 Virginia for first place in the ACC Coastal Division race.
