CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The Miami Hurricanes continued their ascent in the national polls this week, rising to No. 8 in the newest Baseball America rankings released Monday.
Miami (34-14) entered the Baseball America top 10 last week for the first time since April 2009 when it was rated No. 10. Bolstered by their sixth consecutive weekend series victory, Miami moved up two spots in this week’s rankings.
After taking two of three games from SWAC leaders Alabama State this weekend, Miami stayed put at No. 12 in the newest Perfect Game top 25.
The Hurricanes also remained in the top five of Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s rankings, falling one spot from No. 4 to No. 5. Miami dropped a spot in the USA Today coaches’ poll, moving down from No. 14 to No. 15.
