I know everybody, myself included, is anxious to hear about the search for the next Miami Hurricanes Football Coach. This is the first of some (many) running updates with reports and news on that front. This page will be updated throughout the day.
10:30PM
I was out for a while tonight. Sorry.
Anyways, while I was out, apparently there was chatter that an announcement on the coaching hire was forthcoming. Brian London from 790 the Ticket had information to the contrary, however.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">As of 10:13 pm tonight..UM had no plans to "announce their coach tomorrow." Of course that could have changed by 10:14 pm.</p>— BrianTheBeastLondon (@MiamiRadioBeast) <a href="https://twitter.com/MiamiRadioBeast/status/671894320623001600">December 2, 2015</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
So, we'll continue to wait for Blake James and friends to make this hire and, hopefully, get this right.
That'll do it for today's updates. See you guys tomorrow.

InsideTheU, Miami's 247Sports site, has an article saying that former UM assistant, Rutgers Coach and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach Greg Schiano passed on the UCF job to put all his eggs in the Miami basket and wait for the job with the Canes.

Might work out. Might not. We'll see
Also, our UVA sister site Streaking the Lawn posted a report from ESPN's Mark Schlabach saying that Mark Richt will interview for that job in the near future
Per @Mark_Schlabach, Mark Richt will interview for the #UVA head coaching job. https://t.co/o3hRR4HCTt

A couple new posts for your consumption. First, Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post, who says that if the interview goes well, UM will offer the job to Mark Richt:
Source on Richt/UM: If interview goes well, UM will offer the job, but "no guarantee he's going to take it." https://t.co/oq5VLta9K9
— Matt Porter (@mattyports) December 1, 2015
Then, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, with a catch-all report on the coaching search.
Tuesday update: The latest of UM's coaching search and 4 Dolphins roster moves: https://t.co/BEg6d7xQe1

More when it's available.

Confirmation that Dan Mullen has indeed interviewed for the Miami Job, which has been previously reported (see the 12:10pm update)
Can confirm with @ClowESPN that Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen has talked with Miami officials in the last 24 hours about job
— Mark Schlabach (@Mark_Schlabach) December 1, 2015
AND ALSO, Mark Richt in Miami to interview/meet with representatives confirmed, as per Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald
Mark Richt is indeed in Miami today and was with Blake in the early afternoon. More than one person thinks the job is his if he wants it.

Per FOXSports' Bruce Feldman, Miami has $$ to spend for coaching. While that's good to hear, the question remains: will we actually spend it, or continue to be cheap.....I mean, thrifty?
#Miami coaching search heating up. Am told #UM can pay a lot more than many expect--up around $4 million per: https://t.co/VWLcWGcDqc

An interesting report from Brody Logan of Fox 5 News in Washington, D.C. (a UM alum)
I don't know who it is, but I'm told a decision has been made for the Canes head coaching job.
— Brody Logan (@BrodyLogan) December 1, 2015
The plot could potentially be thickening. We'll see.

Another update from Barry Jackson, and this one could prove to be big.
Richt man to beat in UM's coaching search if interview goes well, according to someone briefed on situation. But Richt has other suitors,...

12:30PM
Another piece of information from Miami Herald writer Barry Jackson
For those who asked, Miami has shown no interest in interviewing Cristobal to this point, according to associate who's surprised by that.
— Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) December 1, 2015
Much like what Porter says in his 12 things to know (below), this could be because either 1. UM is wholly disinterested in Cristobal or 2. Nick Saban won't let assistants interview during the season (Bama has SEC championship game this weekend). Or, the other, or a little of both? Hmm....

Interesting list of candidates here from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Strong still in play?
UM interviewing Richt today, reports @PeterAriz. So Richt, Butch, Schiano, potentially Mullen etc.in play, and UM hasn't ruled out Strong.

Mark Richt interviewing with Miami today? According to this report, yes.
A lot of talk that Miami is interviewing Mark Richt today. His interest level/willingness to coach next season remains to be seen #Canes
— Peter Ariz (@PeterAriz) December 1, 2015
@PeterAriz Who's reporting -- or even suggesting -- this? I've read nothing saying Richt is interviewing. I have read he isn't interested.
— Daniel, Esq. (@Daniel0061824) December 1, 2015
I am reporting it. https://t.co/3KSMc20pxC

Take it for what you will.

I went on the Bill King Radio Show to talk about the Canes coaching search and what we know. You can find the podcast to that in the embedded tweet below. My segment starts at the 33 minute mark:

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that former UGA coach Mark Richt is "unlikely to jump at any current job opening". Miami is said to have reached out to Richt, who said he was contacted by 5 schools yesterday. The salient line from the above piece from the AJC:
"Insiders say Richt is not interested in returning to Miami."
So, that's not a positive report for Miami. But, that's the nature of a search. More to come.
