In addition to being a tenacious defender, knock down shooter, and all around versatile performer on the hardwood, Davon Reed is apparently a heck of a student.
Today Reed was named one of 22 student athletes honored by the conference.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami sophomore guard Davon Reed has been named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
Reed, from Ewing, N.J., is majoring in sports administration.To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
He is knocking down 51.9 percent of his shots from long range in ACC games, and is tied for team lead in 3-pointers in league games. Despite only playing 22 of 30 games (due to injury), he is fourth on the team with 29 makes from long range overall.
Reed has scored 10+ points in eight of the past 13 games and has knocked down multiple 3-pointers in nine of the last 14 outings.
For the season, Reed is averaging 7.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while hitting 52.7 percent from the field, 48.3 percent from three and 78.8 percent at the line.
