Back like I never left. Let’s get our week started with some Canes News, y’all!
Canes add one and lose one on the recruiting trail over the weekend
With all the injuries the Canes have sustained this year, it’s clear that additional depth and talent is needed. To that end, CMR and company have been recruiting to get that depth and talent on the team through the 2017 recruiting class.
Over the weekend Miami got their top target at Safety when Amari Carter (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) committed to the Canes.

Then, in an unrelated but opposite move, Cornerback Brian Edwards (Miramar, FL) decommitted from the Canes.

I have a piece going up later today about the recruiting picture at DB, but suffice it to say that Miami is looking at plenty of options, including bringing Edwards back into the fold, to round out the DB group in the 2017 recruiting class.
Evaluating Brad Kaaya
Obviously, the QB is the most scrutinized position on any football team. There have already been thousands of words on this site, and many more around the internet, dedicated to Miami QB Brad Kaaya and his performance in the 2016 season.
Over the weekend, Bleacher Report NFL analyst Ian Wharton had an essay in tweets about Kaaya, his performance, and NFL projection. Yeah, you want to read this one:

On top of that, an eye opening stat from Pro Football Focus’ Steve Palazzolo regarding Kaaya
Miami QB Brad Kaaya:
— Steve Palazzolo (@PFF_Steve) October 21, 2016
No Pressure: 67.5 comp%, 110.3 NFL passer rating
with Pressure: 32.4 comp%, 37.9 NFL passer rating
At the risk of inciting player-bashing without having read the piece.....do you agree or disagree with Wharton’s assessment? Let me know in the comments below.

Everything hasn’t been perfect this year, but those videos prove there’s plenty of talent on this team.
