FOR JUST 10 CENTS PER DAY, YOU TOO CAN HELP A NOLE FAN FIND PEACE

COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS A HARD SPORT. OFTEN FANBASES ARE LEFT BEHIND WHEN ONE OR TWO LOSSES STACK UP, ESPECIALLY WHEN THOSE LOSSES COME IN THE MOST PUBLIC AND EMBARRASSING WAYS IMAGINABLE. IT'S NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES WHY SOME FANBASES LOSE FAITH IN THEMSELVES, THEIR TEAM, THEIR COACHES, OR EVEN THEIR BLUSTERY STRAW-HAT-FESTOONED TWITTER PUPPET.

I BRING YOU THE FOLLOWING NOT AS A GALLERY OF SADNESS, PER SE, BUT AS A GLIMPSE INTO WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO A ONCE OBNOXIOUS PROUD FAN BASE WHEN OVER-INFLATED EXPECTATIONS COME CRASHING TO SOLID EARTH AT BREAKNECK SPEED. FOR EFFECT, SAPP ASKS THAT YOU PLEASE OPEN THIS VIDEO AND SET IT TO A TASTEFUL VOLUME AS YOU BROWSE THE COMMENTS BELOW.

I think the coaches are losing the locker room

Watching UL vs CU tonight just shows how bad FSU is in so many ways.

Could beat the dead horse, but why?

Absolutely worst product, I have ever seen, at FSU. Even Bowden, in his last year’s had players who had something.

The announcer said it best "they look like they never met." We contest nothing, move no one, and inspire me to forgo season tix next year.

Would love to say something brilliant and insightful

but the only thing that comes to mind is we suck.
We have at least two more losses to UM and Clemson with probably another one sneaking in there.
Five losses takes us back to the lost years under over-the-hill Bowden.
At least he could blame it on sub par talent.
Somehow we’ve taken a collection of studs and turned them into duds.

The fire left this team with Jameis.

I’m trying to remember a time (previous to these past 2 years, though more this year than last) when the defense didn’t strike fear into opposing offenses. No one fears this defense. Everyone believes they are going to score on us, and they do, almost at will. There’s no gang tackling, players flowing to the football, creating multiple turnovers, pressuring the QB, or something so simple as some GD communication! How in the hell can any team, especially one of the top recruiting teams in the nation, expect to win a battle when they do none of these things. They are soft, plain and simple. Maybe, instead of practice on Monday, they need to be locked in a room and made to watch the whole 2013 season. Then they can see what fire from a real defense looks like.

2013 is looking more and more like the perfect storm

Lightning in a bottle that we might not see again for a long time…we had leaders at every defensive level, Timmy on the line, telvin with the LBs and Joyner with the DBs along with gobs of NFL caliber talent. We had a prodigious QB, a freak WR and two extremely reliable WRs, the best TE in history, an all NFL line and a three headed monster at RB. Almost all of them had a high football iq…we all wanted to believe we had a program, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

worst defense i've ever seen at FSU

This may be the worst defense I’ve seen at FSU since I’ve been living my 27 years. It’s just unbelievable how bad they are. Defensive line doesn’t get ANY push or pressure. Linebackers look so lost (besides Jackson…he’ll be a stud). Secondary is beyond awful. This is exactly why I don’t look into high school rankings. Some kids look like players or test well but they aren’t football players and most of the times they are playing against POOR competition. It’s time to just put the young linebackers in and roll with them. Wally and Fred are our best tackles. I don’t know what’s up with those ends. Demarcus try hard but he’s getting extra attention. It’s just crazy how easy EVERYONE has been moving the ball on them. No resistance. Kelly gets more blame than anyone. His scheme isn’t for THIS team. We are giving up 35 points a game. That’s really bad! Marcus Lewis has to be moved. He’s becoming a major problem at the slot. He just can’t stop anyone. Levonte has to be better. I just know he is. I refuse to believe he isn’t better. And why don’t we ever blitz? I don’t know if y’all have noticed it but we rarely blitz and when we do it’s nothing exotic. just basic blitzes. Kelly is conservative like Jimbo. I just don’t understand. At least pressure will help the secondary out a little. If we have the athletes that people have been hyping up then why aren’t we blitzing and letting them play (everyone except Lewis). Man Derwin must be the greatest forreal. We actually looked pretty good with him on the field. Without him we look like high school. I just pray we don’t lose 5 games. I don’t know if I can handle a 5-loss season. Not FLORIDA STATE

The defense is horrific

Fisher is 100% right. If UNC did stop them there is little doubt that they would have scored (maybe a FG, maybe a TD, but they were likely scoring). Look at the last 23 seconds with the game on the line and dropping everyone back into coverage and there were still guys WIDE open. Fisher knows his defense stinks and his coordinator stinks. He tried to play around that and almost won, but Kelly and the defense are just too awful.

Kaaya will absolutely shred this defense

they may very well break their school record for points in a game. Our offense will be productive, but not enough to score every 23 seconds, hence we get boatraced…

▼I'd take a 3 touchdown loss

This is their super bowl and we are listless and apathetic. Kaaya will be the best pure passer we have faced. Things could easily steamroll into a perfect storm and it’s Louisville all over a good again…

▼I think Miami will be the "easiest" opponent for us yet this year (excluding 1-AA Charleston)

Very good passer, but Kaaya doesn’t have the same run threat as the other QB’s we have faced, and they don’t run at the same pace as literally every other team we’ve played. I’m sure they will try to hurry it up given how our D has fared this year.

This sucks

Its not just coaching but the results of the defense are awful. Nothing else to say about the product that is currently on the field other than its awful and somebody is going to have to fall on the sword. Clearly some players on this team are giving terrible effort on the field, clearly some players that just take quarters and halves of football games off, clearly some players that are mentally immature and clearly some who are just lazy. But this defense is soft, slow moving, lacks toughness, lacks aggressiveness, lacks anger and attitude, lacks communication and looks lost out there. Theres currently no fight in this defense at all. Theres lots of blame to go around with the mess that is FSU defense right now.

Bud sounds defeated

I didn’t get to watch the game but from what I have seen and now as I watch the Louisville game. I think the slate has been very difficult and makes this somewhat hard to put this all into perspective. But boy does this D really suck, they weren’t even close to slowing down an okay offense. I am not convinced yet of a scheme change. I do completely agree with understanding 4th down math and understanding your opponent and understanding your own team.

Jimbo may not be as good of a in game coach as I would like to think. He falls on traditional thinking when it comes to managing a game and most likely it cost this team. As much as it pains me, he really needs to watch how Urban Meyer manages a game, that guy is pretty damn incredible and rarely makes coaching mistakes during the game. If Jimbo was able to hand off the OC duties he may be able to focus more on his game management and would most likely lead to a better team on game day.

Havent listened yet but offense is scoring over 41 ppg this year

Offense isnt perfect, far from it, but FSU is scoring over 41 ppg this year. The offense is over 7 points better per game this year than they were last year. The defense has flat out fallen off the map. We were the only team to not give up 25 points in a single regular season game last year, and this year we are flat out awful. WTF happened? Offense isnt perfect and it makes it worse when your RS freshman QB and the offense have 0 room for error. I mean we cant go 3 and out one time without fear that were going to give up 7 pts on the opposite side of the ball. Its too much pressure on this offense with this defense we are fielding. We cant hold a lead for 23 seconds. Its awful. Im going to listen to the podcast but this isnt on the offense.

Bud

Think you are being overly generous when you say they will only lose 1 more game at a minimum. Not trying to be debbie-downer, but think scUM will win next Saturday and Clemson is gonna beat the snot out of us.

2 losses at a minimum and that’s not even looking at the jorts, who offensively challenged as they are would probably still score 28 on this D.

Great Podcast, thought it was very well presented and quite frankly, worrisome. If the players are starting to tune out the staff, or even worse, CJF, I dread thinking about what might become of this program.

This is a 5 loss team, and that’s only if the offense remains somewhat reliable. Blowout losses to Miami and Clemson, and then I think we’ll drop one of NCSU/UF/Cuse for good measure.

I have had a good nights' sleep and I still do not want to watch another FSU game this year. The IQ of the secondary must be around 15.

We will lose to Miami & Clemson and will likely lose to Florida, Wake Forest and N C State. Any opposing coach has a video guide on how to score on us. Our secondary is soft and would allow 5 yds per catch on EVERY play. They do not play within 5 yards of the receiver even on short yardage plays. But why should they. the middle of the line allows short yardage at least half of the game before someone on the sideline makes "adjustments". What do the coaches work on all week BEFORE the game? Basics? Do they not coach for the upcoming TEAM. "ADJUSTMENTS" SHOULD BE RARE & MINIMAL FOR A WELL PREPARED TEAM. We give away half a game every week for halftime "adjustments"

▼If we lose all those game and go 5-7, 6-6, with this talent, JF should be

Fired, no questions asked. With our current talent on the roster , no way we should go 5-7 or 6-6.

I think we finish 9-3, 8-4, any worse for the regular season and JF SHOULD be on the hot seat. Has any team with our amount of talent ( Bama, OSU, Clemson, ect. Gone 7-5 or worse in the last few years? Nope!!! )
