Here’s the full release on this schedule addition from Miami Athletics:
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The University of Miami football program announced Monday that it will host UAB in a nonconference game at Hard Rock Stadium onSeptember 19, 2020.
The matchup will mark the first-ever contest between the two schools.
“We’re excited about the addition of UAB to our schedule for 2020,” Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Strawley said. “We are always striving for a competitive nonconference slate to complement our ACC schedule.”
The matchup with the Blazers adds to a 2020 nonconference schedule that includes a home game with Temple (Sept. 5) and a road tilt at Michigan State (Sept. 26).
The Hurricanes also have future out-of-conference games scheduled with LSU in Arlington, Texas (2018), Florida in Orlando, Fla., (2019), Alabama in Atlanta (2021), Michigan State at home (2021), and Texas A&M, both home (2023) and away (2022).
As stated, UAB joins the future non-conference schedule with such premium teams as LSU, Florida, Alabama, Michigan State, and Texas A&M.
This is a mid-tier team and a fine addition to the non-conference schedule in 2020. This should be an easy win, and that’s fine with me.
