Senior - LB - 6'0 242 - Coral Gables, Fl
A potential first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Perryman looks to build on a stellar junior campaign where he registered team leading 108 total tackles including 69 solo stops. There haven't been many bright spots on the Miami defense in the past couple of seasons, but this unforgiving hitter has surely separated himself from his peers. Last season, he earned the team's defensive MVP award and was named All-ACC first team.
Perryman was part of the 2011 recruiting class and was rated a 3-star coming out of Coral Gables High School. His offer sheet was impressive, and Miami had to fight of some in-state schools for his services.
Watch Perryman's top ten hits that would even make Mr. Butkus blush:
Summary: If Miami wants to start competing for the ACC title, the defense needs to have more of a positive impact. Fortunately, Perryman chose to forgo the NFL Draft for another season and return for his senior season. He is the leader on defense, and is the biggest impact player that Miami has had on defense in quite some time. This fall he is expected to play at middle linebacker, where he has not played too much since being at Miami. In the past seasons, he was able to make the greatest impact playing the outside linebacker position, which seems to suit his skills well. It will be interesting to see how he performs, because if the 'Canes want any shot at the ACC Championship they will need him to play like a first-round pick.
