Someone averages a first down per carry in South Florida high school ball, and that someone is ours.
From the Fort Myers News-Press:
"He was excited about it," Darion Hall said of [running backs coach Tommie] Robinson. "My mom (Della Hall) and I talked it over last night and then I called coach Robinson to tell him I verbally committed. I've called him every couple of days."
Hall is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound running back with 4.4-second speed in the 40-yard dash. Rivals ranks him as a three-star player and No. 42 at his position.
He said 22 schools made him offers, including Purdue this week and South Carolina last week. Among other schools that offered him a scholarship were Florida State, Michigan, West Virginia, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Kansas, Arkansas and Arizona...
Did new offensive coordinator Mark Whipple help sway his decision? "Yes, a lot," Hall said.
From the Sun-Sentinel:
Naples Lely coach Steve Pricer has been affiliated with the football program for 33 years. Not one player, Pricer says, has shown more potential than the `Canes latest verbal commitment.
"He's the real deal," Pricer said. "He's a very special guy. I've never had a kid of his quality, his work ethic and his ability."
Pricer refused to call Hall a power, speed or agility back, saying he's a combination of all. "It's hard to describe what kind of runner he is," Pricer said. "He's not a slasher, he's not a bull. He just does it all."
