The road has proved a tough place for ACC teams to win, with league teams going a combined 14-32 on the road in conference games this season. Virginia, who has a league-low three road games in the first nine dates of its conference slate, is the only conference team with a winning road record in ACC play at 2-1, while Florida State is even at 2-2. The Hurricanes have not fared well on the road in ACC play this season, going 0-5 entering Saturday's game in Tallahassee.

Over the course of their careers, just two current ACC head coaches (who have coached at least one full season) have winning road records in league play -- Duke's Mike Krzyzewski (1-2 this season) and North Carolina's Roy Williams (1-2 this season).

The Hurricanes will be among just eight men's basketball programs around the nation unveiling a new series of Nike uniforms this month, joining Gonzaga, Kentucky, Michigan State, St. John's, Syracuse, Texas and UConn. Miami will debut its new unis in Coral Gables on Feb. 10 versus Georgia Tech. Stay tuned for more...

Florida State leads the all-time series versus Miami, 34-28, with the teams splitting the series last season as each program won at home. The Seminoles defeated the Hurricanes, 80-67, in their last meeting on Feb. 18, 2009, in Tallahassee behind a game-high 24 points from Toney Douglas -- including hitting 14-of-15 free throws, while current `Cane James Dews finished with a team-high 19 points -- including a 3-of-5 effort from beyond the arc. FSU converted 31-of-35 from the charity stripe, while Miami hit 14-of-24 free throws.

The long-time rivals will meet again on March 6 in Coral Gables to close the 2009-10 regular season.

Florida State has dropped two home ACC games this season, falling to NC State, 88-81, on Jan. 12, and to Maryland, 71-67, on Thursday. As of Jan. 31, the Seminoles lead the nation in field goal percent defense keeping opponents to just 36.5 percent from the field, while ranking ninth with 6.8 blocked shots per game -- including a team-leading 2.5 from 7-1 center Solomon Alabi.

James Dews, who has scored in double figures in 10 of the last 11 games, needs just 18 points to become the 31st Hurricane to score 1,000 career points... He has hit a three-pointer in six-straight games -- the sixth-longest active streak in the ACC... Miami leads the ACC with 176 made 3s this season (8.0/game)... UM is 12-1 when scoring 70-plus points this season, including an 8-0 mark when scoring at least 80 points... With a season-high 13 points at Wake Forest, freshman Garrius Adams posted the 23rd double-figure scoring performance by a first-year Miami player this season... Head coach Frank Haith is friends with Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell from when they both coached at Wake Forest.

The Hurricanes are 323-153 (.679) all-time versus in-state opponents, including a 25-8 (.758) mark under Frank Haith. Miami has won 56 of its last 68 games versus Florida schools, dating back to the 1992-93 season. In 2009-10, the Hurricanes are 6-0 versus Sunshine State teams -- defeating Florida Southern, Nova Southeastern, Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson, Florida Atlantic and Bethune-Cookman.
