The Connect: Who Shot Ya?

And for maybe the first time ever, the answer is not Brandon Meriweather. No, this time it was head coach Al Golden that went all Summer Jam screen (mixed rap references, sorry!) on UF. When asked by SI's Stewart Mandel about the Miami football's fickle attendance, Golden replied:

"I know this -- we have a better chance of filling our stadium than Gainesville has of putting an international city right outside its city limits.

NEIGHBORS CALL THE COPS SAID THEY HEARD MAD SHOTS etc.

In further Canes/Gator news, class of 2012 Hallandale DB Willie Bailey— a Randy Shannon commit— has dropped the Canes for the Gators. Bailey is a tall, lanky DB that, word has it, was not necessarily in the future plans of the Golden regime.

It's no secret that departed DB Brandon Harris was one of the team's outstanding athletes on and off the court, and Yahoo's Jason Cole has a nice story on Harris' dedication to Liberty City.

There has been no significant movement on the basketball coach front. "The target is Kansas State's Frank Martin," said someone inside the athletic department in the style of "The Bourne Supremacy"'s Noah Vosen. (I made that up.) (No one inside the athletic department is trying to kill Frank Martin.)
