Miami's Jeffrey Brown arrested for sexual battery

Picture_1_medium

Nothing funny about this one, folks. Miami redshirt defensive linemen Jeffrey Brown was arrested a little before 4 p.m. today and was charged with sexual battery. An unidentified female alleges that Brown sexually assaulted her in her dorm room while she was under the influence of alcohol. She also alleges that she asked Brown to stop, but he did not. Brown has been suspended indefinitely according to the university, and his name has already been removed from the official roster on the team's website.

Brown was a two-star recruit that came to Miami from Eavanston, IL. He was not expected to see much playing time this season, and whether he even returns to the team is quite obviously in doubt, though it doesn't look good. Brown is the second player to be arrested under Al Golden, though the allegations against Brown are much more serious and troubling than the now dropped charges against a drunk and rowdy Ramon Buchanan. We'll have more on this story as it unfolds.
