We're a bit late on getting you the info, but seeing as it came about late last night, give us a break! Anyway, the Canes' recruiting class got a bit of a boost last night when DT/OL Hunter Knighton pledged his name to Miami. Knighton was part of the recent official visit weekend, and had plenty to say about it. From CanesInsider:
Miami has always been the top school for me since they offered me," Knighton said, 6-foot-5, 265-pounds. "Things were getting down to it at the end and going into the visit the last weekend I had no idea where it was going to go. I was really hoping all along that once I got onto campus I would get the right feeling. After being on the campus for a few hours I knew Miami was the place for me and I had a good experience there. The visit went perfectly and I knew I wanted to go there.
He also talked about how he knew that he had made the right decision:
After hearing the reaction from Miami head coach Al Golden and defensive line coach Jethro Franklin, Knighton knew that he made the right choice.
"I called Coach Golden tonight," Knighton said. "He was so happy. Him and Coach Franklin were driving around and they were all screaming.
Knighton is being recruited by Miami to play offensive line, although he has said that they left the possibility open that he could move to the defensive side if things change once he gets on campus. He will be an early enrollee, meaning he will be joining the family in January.
