Future Canes - Miami Recruiting Update 7/26/12: Jamal Carter Commits To Miami

Word.
Word.

This week has already been huge with the commitment of Artie Burns, and the awesome just double with today's commitment. Most of the suspense is gone with the title, but if you want a better look at Miami's newest recruit, hit the jump.

Consensus 4 star safety recruit Jamal Carter made his choice official just a bit ago, picking Miami. This is a big boost to this years class, as it provides two great athletes for the defensive side of the ball. Many analysts have watched Jamal at various games, camps, and events, and they all seem to come away with the same opinion. He is a freak athlete, and has great upside, but his instincts and polish are as of yet lacking. See for yourself:

Now, that isn't to say that he won't learn over the course of his senior year, or wont become a great college athlete. However, his game does have that certain air of bust potential. All that aside, getting 2 four star recruits in the same week is great for any school and coach, let alone ones that are coming off a damning report alleging NCAA violations. The fact that Golden has been able to be accused by Charles Robinson only to turn around and land these two guys is pretty incredible. Both guys will continue to help recruit, and the class can only go up from here.

In other recruiting news, it appears as if other schools are trying to get into the Angelo Jean-Louis sweepstakes. The extremely talented WR was a Miami signee, but was forced to attend prep school for a year. He has been very candid about sticking with Miami, and is constantly in touch with the coaches. He has said that even though he is getting calls from other schools, his chances of remaining a Cane are 100%. A year in prep school can only help the 4 star kid, so let's hope he stays true and comes in next year to give the WR group an immediate boost.
