Hurricanes Home Opener Game Thread: Bethune-Cookman vs. The U

Presswire

It's finally here, Canes fans, the home opener. Our orange and green will take the field at Sun Life Stadium against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.

These guys met last year for the first time ever, and the game was close until the later stages of the game, when the Canes pulled away for a final of 45-14. This year's Wildcats will field almost the same team, full of experience, and with a lot of the same guys who faced off against Miami last year.

The Canes will field much the same team that got destroyed last week, with some new faces in certain places. Freshman safety Deon Bush gets his first ever start, along side Kacy Rogers. We will also see a lot of freshman Earl Moore on the defensive line, as he is moved up to the second team ahead of Jalen Grimble. On the offense, due to Allen Hurns' injury, Malcolm Lewis becomes the true starter, and looks to lead the rest of the receivers. There's hope that Duke Johnson gets more touches in this game, and it is hard not to think that he will do at least one amazing thing.

So fire up your ESPN3, join us in the comments below, and let's have some fun!
