Wednesday was the start of the college basketball early national signing day (We're waiting on you, Football), and two Canes forwards made it official today.
PF Omar Sherman who is rated as a 4-star on ESPN and a 3-star in other recruiting websites signed his letter of intent Wednesday and he's officially a Miami Hurricane. Sherman is a 6'8'' 230 pound big man with good skill. He fills a huge void for the Hurricanes in the front court.
Miami is expecting 3 LOI's today. Omar Sherman's has just arrived. Hurricanes have No. 22 overall class.

Jim Larranaga has proven that he likes going through the JUCO ranks to get some talent and for the 2014 class, Coach L got even more front court help by bringing in 6'10'' 235 pound Ivan Cruz Uceda to Coral Gables. Uceda is Spaniard, but had been playing his college ball in Pennsylvania. Being European, Uceda loves to shoot the three-ball, but he's not afraid to go down low, which is a good thing. He'll have two years left of eligibility once he steps foot in Miami.

The Canes still await Ja'Quan Newton and James Palmer to sign their letters of intent. I have not heard much from the Palmer side of things, but Newton confirmed to me that he will be signing his letter later on today.
Until then,
WELCOME TO THE U, Omar and Ivan!
