Miami Hurricanes' Full 2013 Football Schedule Released

After a grueling schedule in 2012, the Canes look to have a bit of an easier tilt this upcoming season. Along with the newcomers to the ACC, fans will be treated to a year that harkens back to when the Big 3 played every year.

While the ACC football schedule has been known for a while now, the rest of the Canes' schedule was sort of a mystery. Well, for the most part. We knew that Florida would be there, but who fills out the rest? Have there been any changes to it since the ACC schedule was announced? Who's at home and who is away? All those questions are finally answered, because the school has revealed the teams that Miami will be playing. Here's a look (courtesy of FBSchedules.com):

The first thing that I notice is something that is entirely welcome: 3 of Miami's first 4 games are at home, and the 4th is a game at USF, which some would say is not all that bad of a "road" game. Compared to last year, which saw the Canes open the season with a road conference game, then traveling for 2 of the next three, this is wonderful. Granted, one of those home games is against rival Florida, but being home is always nice.

The second thing, which has been known for a very long time, is that 2013 will be the last year for a while that the Big 3 all play each other. With Miami having both Florida and FSU on the schedule, and those two perennially playing each other, it will be like the times of old. If Miami can pull off wins against both of those teams, which are arguably the two hardest games they will play, then it will be a very happy year for Canes fans everywhere.

The rest of the schedule is your normal (almost) ACC tilt. We travel to FSU, somehow get VT at home again, and will travel to both UNC and Duke. As covered in our post from when the ACC released their schedules, our other home games will be against GT, Virginia, and Wake Forest. The Canes will travel to the three above mentioned teams plus Pittsburgh, one of the two new ACC members.

Overall, this year's schedule is VERY favorable considering what the boys had to play through last year. Even though 2012 was tough, it was extremely beneficial to the youth on the team to have to go through what they did. This year will pit that same youth with another year of growth and experience, plus all of the veterans that Miami does have against a much easier schedule. The ACC is out there for us, and chances are good that we take it.
