CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team continues to climb its way up the national polls, earning No. 8 in the latest edition of the Associated Press Poll and No. 11 in the USA TODAY rankings.

The No. 8 ranking in the AP poll ties Miami’s highest ranking ever, when the Canes were No. 8 on March 1, 1960. In the USA TODAY poll, Miami is one spot short of its highest ranking, which came on March 1, 1999.

"I think it’s great for our fans and our students to read and hear more about us," said Coach Jim Larranaga. "Hopefully that will sell more tickets and we’ll have a great crowd for the game Tuesday against Boston College."
