Thursday night was draft night in the NBA and former 'Cane, Shane Larkin was awaiting his name to be called by commissioner David Stern and when his name was called, it was the Atlanta Hawks that called his name. However, that pick was traded in a proposed deal to the Dallas Mavericks.

Shane Larkin wow'd at the NBA combine with his 44-inch vertical, which was the second highest vertical ever recorded at the combine. To go along his jumping ability, Larkin was also able to display his elusiveness. Larkin was also allowed to show his shooting ability in team workouts, and his high character, being from a very well respected family by all.

The Pick: Larkin was slotted to be picked between 12-20 and that was the case. After trading down twice in the draft, Dallas decided to pull the trigger and select Shane Larkin with the 18th pick.

Dallas wants to add Dwight Howard this summer so Larkin might of just landed in a tittle-contending team as he's surrounded by Dirk Nowitzki and possibly Dwight Howard.

Best of luck to Shane and let's all wish him many successful years in the NBA.
