Lufkin, Texas consensus three-star defensive tackle D.J. Williams has seen his recruitment pick of late, receiving a few scholarship offers this past spring. Those offers came from: Missouri, Miami, Oklahoma, Kansas and North Texas.

"It's been great," Williams said. "I have five offers."

Going forward, Williams plans to possibly visit both Miami and Oklahoma this month.
Miami's defensive lineman coach Jethro Franklin is recruiting him, "he tells me I can get a lot of playing time if I come down there, and that they really want me in their program," Williams said.

Miami was the first school to offer the Texas native, and that has not gone unnoticed.

"Knowing that they were my first offer just shows that they really wanted me," Williams said. "They will always be one of my top schools."

The 6-3, 270-pound defender is also excited about visiting Oklahoma. "I grew up watching them on T.V., and they send a lot of defensive linemen to the NFL every year," Williams said.

When choosing a school, Williams will be looking for the possibility to play early and he will not let distance play a factor in his ultimate decision.

"I just want to find the best place that suits me, I don't care about going out of state," Williams said.
