Canes hit the jackpot, land DE Chad Thomas

This recruiting cycle for Miami got a huge boost, landing top target Chad Thomas from Booker T. Washington

Miami's newest commit: BTW DE Chad Thomas

The job that Al Golden and company have done on the recruiting trail for the 2014 class can be called nothing short of impressive. Early in the morning on July 20th, we got this tweet from Al himself:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>WELCOME TO THE U!!!! !! !!</p>&mdash; Al Golden (@GoldenAl) <a href="">July 20, 2013</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

We didn't even have time to speculate on who it might have been, because this tweet came mere seconds later.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>I&#39;m a Miami Hurricane.</p>&mdash; C.Thomas99 (@F5_Chad) <a href="">July 20, 2013</a></blockquote>

So, like that, Miami has pulled in Chad Thomas, a 4* DE prospect who has been on a tear this offseason. The 6'5'' 240lb Booker T Washington star has dominated practices and camps across the country. Thomas won camp MVP at 4 invitation only events, including Nike's The Opening in early July. His stock, while already high, seems to be skyrocketing. At this point, Thomas seems likely to gain a 5th star and be viewed as one of the top prospects in the country.

Thomas' commitment gives Miami 3 players from Booker T Washington (with Demetrius Jackson and Nigel Bethel II being the others). Speaking of Bethel, he was pleased when the news broke:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Told y&#39;all I was gone get <a href="">@F5_Chad</a> he wanted to eat in his hometown</p>&mdash; N.Bethel (@_NigelBethel) <a href="">July 20, 2013</a></blockquote>

All in all, this is a banner day for Miami. This, my friends, is awesome.
