Senior OT Bunche to transfer

6'7 330 pounder was expected to be a huge part of the team next year.

Well folks, it is clearly time for the coaching staff to circle the wagons.

In an unexpected development, senior tackle Malcolm Bunche is leaving the program:

This is not good news, at all.

Bunche is a valuable performer who can play both guard and tackle, and was expected to be a senior leader on next year's team.

Sure the 'Canes have KC McDermott among other talented o lineman coming in, and that will help. But you can not replace the experience Bunche has developed as a 3 year letterman with 13 career starts.

To our knowledge, Bunche has never had off the field issues.

He was once described as "the strongest player on the team" and was also called "the best offensive lineman coming our of the spring" by offensive line coach Art Kehoe last year.

This is a huge loss for the 'Canes, and one that will surely have UM fans scratching their heads.

No official reason for the departure was given.
