Just when UM fans were feeling good about the team......
Miami Hurricanes lose Ereck Flowers to knee injury http://t.co/9MxzR6gJLi
— Susan Miller Degnan (@smillerdegnan) October 28, 2014
This is awful news for a Miami offensive line that was looking very cohesive, and mauled a good VT front last Thursday.
And Flowers is widely regarded as the best of UM's big guys up front.
Ereck Flowers showed impressive inline power in the first half. Steady movement and finished when given the opportunity.

Already down Gadbois and McDermott, losing Flowers hurts badly. He hasn't been great this year, but he's the LT for a reason

He had also made 21 consecutive starts. The 6'6 324 pound junior has caught the eye of NFL scouts as well, and before injury likely would have considered foregoing his senior season at UM.
Whether this changes that, remains to be seen.
In the interim, this is terrible news for UM.
Inexperienced Sunny Odogwu and true freshman Trevor Darling are most likely to see snaps in his absence. James Coley also confirmed that you will see Jon Feliciano shift from RT to LT.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Ereck.
Updated: things may not be as bad as initially reported.
Golden says Flowers' injury was an old one that flared up team will know more tomorrow. Says he does not expect him to play vs UNC.

We will have much more on Flowers status as we learn it here on SOTU.
