Latest Miami Depth Chart

After not having any official release since the Louisville game, Miami put out the latest depth chart today.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Offense (Pro)

Wide Receiver Left Tackle Left Guard Center Right Guard Right Tackle Tight End Slot Wide Receiver
Phillip Dorsett Ereck Flowers Nick Linder OR Shane McDermott Daniel Isidora Jon Feliciano Clive Walford Braxton Berrios Herb Waters
Malcolm Lewis Trevor Darling Hunter Wells Nick Linder Alex Gall Sunny Odogwu Standish Dobard Malcolm Lewis Stacy Coley
Fullback Quarterback Running Back
Walter Tucker Brad Kaaya Duke Johnson
Ronnie Regula Jake Heaps Joseph Yearby OR
Ryan Williams Gus Edwards

Quick thoughts:

  • Stacy Coley still 2nd at WR behind Waters. Waters, who has had a couple nice games this year, seems to be progressing. Coley, however, is mired in a TERRIBLE sophomore slump.
  • Malcolm Lewis listed as backup at 2 positions: WR and Slot. He should still figure to get heavy PT as the season continues.
  • D'Mauri Jones not listed on depth chart. He's not had a good season. I'd look at Tyre Brady (who has already played this year, and started vs FAMU, so he can't RS) in his spot.
  • No changes along the OL.
  • Linder is listed as an OR starter, but after a strong first start at GT last week, I fully expect him to remain the starter at that position.
  • Yearby seems to have jumped Edwards at backup RB. If you've watched any games this season, that makes perfect sense. He's the better player of the two.
  • Brad Kaaya is your QB. Wonder if Golden is ready to name him the full-time starter yet?

Defense (4-3 Base)

End Tackle Tackle End
Anthony Chickillo Calvin Heurtelou Olsen Pierre Tyriq McCord
Chad Thomas Courtel Jenkins Ufomba Kamalu Trent Harris
Anthony Moten
SAM MIKE WILL
Thurston Armbrister Denzel Perryman Raphael Kirby
Darrion Owens Juwon Young Jermaine Grace
Corner Safety Safety Corner
Artie Burns Deon Bush Nantambu Fentress Ladarius Gunter
Tracy Howard Jamal Carter Dallas Crawford Corn Elder
Antonio Crawford

Quick Thoughts

  • Secondary is not what most people had anticipated. Howard, Crawford, and Crawford looked like sure starters in fall camp. All are backups.
  • Fentress starting at one Safety spot. I absolutely abhor this move, but that's just me.
  • Jermaine Grace still 2nd at WILL LB. He has been the better player at that spot this year in my eyes. I think he starts before too long.
  • Usual suspects up front. Chad Thomas back as 2nd on DC behind Chickillo after a strong GT game. Trent Harris behind McCord, and will continue to get snaps.

Special Teams

Punter FG kicker Kickoff Specialist
Justin Vogel Michael Badgley Michael Badgley
Ricky Carroll Matt Goudis Justin Vogel
Long Snapper Short Snapper Holder
Ronnie Regula Frank Gabriel Dallas Crawford
Frank Gabriel Ronnie Regula Justin Vogel
Punt Return Kick Return
Stacy Coley Stacy Coley
Braxton Berrios Phillip Dorsett

Quick Thoughts:

  • Coley still #1 returner on Punt and Kickoffs.
  • Badgley still ahead of Goudis at Kicker. Seems he's earned both the starting job and a scholarship, IMO.
  • Vogel, 14th Nationally in Net Yards per punt, has done a great job and secured that spot for this season.
