Miami Hurricanes Recruiting Radar: Who's Visiting this week

Everybody knew that this week would be THE WEEK for recruiting visits this season. We were right. Oh, so very right.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of every program. And, the backbone of recruiting are events/games that get prospects to campus for visits.

This week, the Miami Hurricanes have their biggest and best recruiting weekend of the year as they face the Florida State Seminioles.

Without any further ado, here are the prospects expected to be on hand. And, as usual, all of this is subject to change.

Visitor List

5-star DT Rasheem Green (Serra HS, Gardena, CA) - This is the headliner of the weekend. The Canes struggles to get a game changing player at DT are well chronicled. Getting Green to Coral Gables and away from favorite USC would be a HUGE recruiting win. His junior highlights are below.

5-star LB John Houston (Serra HS, Gardena, CA) - Green's teammate and the #1 ILB in this cycle, Houston is a prospect the Canes have been following for a while. Miami needs LBs in this class badly, and after missing out on Tevon Coney, Houston visiting, this a teammate no less, is an even bigger deal. I'm VERY interested to hear how he takes in this weekend.

5-star WR Nate Craig (Catholic HS, Tampa, FL) - committed to Auburn

Craig is a longtime Auburn commit and a top 10 player nationally in the 2016 cycle. His visit may not lead to him flipping to the Canes, but stranger things have happened. If he committed, he would easily be the most talented player at this position in this class.

5-Star WR Calvin Ridley (Monarch HS, Coconut Creek, FL)- committed to Alabama

4-star S Shawn Burgess-Becker (Monarch HS, Coconut Creek, FL)- committed to Alabama

Ridley and Burgess-Becker are well known at this point. Both are committed to Alabama, but they will be in attendance. If ever there was a chance to sway those commitments, this would be it.

4-star TE Devonaire Clarington (Booker T. Washington HS, Miami, FL)- Clarington has said that the Canes' staff isn't in contact with him anymore. Also, there are questions regarding his best and future position (TE or DE), and his ability to get accepted to Miami (multiple transfers in High School complicate this scenario).

3-star DB Carlton Davis (Norland HS, Miami, FL) - Committed to OSU, Davis has still been at the top of the wish list for Miami at DB in this cycle. Attends the same school that Duke Johnson and Ereck Flowers did (which is located about a 3 minute walk from SunLife Stadium).

4-star WR Da'Vante Phillips (Central HS, Miami, FL) - Phillips, once committed to Florida, seems all FSU. He is incredibly close with Nole RB Dalvin Cook, and has said for years that they would play together in college. Would be an upgrade at the WR position in this class, but I don't see him coming here, unfortunately.

4-star CB Davante Davis (Booker T. Washington HS, Miami, FL)- Davis is a tall CB with good skills. He would have a chance to play from day 1 here at Miami. He's seen his recruiting profile rise since transferring to Booker T. Washington from Homestead HS. Along with Carlton Davis and Marcus Lewis, he's in the top group of targets for CB.

3-star ATH Rodrick Archer (South Plantation HS, Plantation, FL)- Archer is an interesting prospect. He's a hybrid LB/S and can seriously run. He might not be ready for prime time at a BCS level school from day 1, but with the proliferation of spread offenses, he's the type of defender every team needs, IMO. Adding to the intrigue: RB Commit Jordan Scarlett is his cousin. Archer doesn't yet have an offer, but that may change.

3-star DB Hunter Dale (John Curtis HS, New Orleans, LA) - A good prospect from a recruiting hotbed, Dale is a player who will take plenty of time before deciding his college destination.

3-star DE Shelton Johnson (Atlantic HS, Delray Beach, FL)- Johnson is a prospect who fits what Miami has recruited at this position recently, standing 6'5" 220lbs. He is a prospect with very good athleticism, but needs a bit of weight and increased strength. FSU leads for him at the moment.

Other vistors

3-star CB Rashad Fenton- a local player from Carol City HS who many would like to see in this class.

5-star DE Shavar Manuel (2016 player - #1 in America overall)

5-star CB Saivion Smith (2016 player - #1 at his position)

4-star WR Cavin Ridley (2016 player - no, I didn't misspell his name. That's Calvin Ridley's younger brother. Some say the younger Ridley is the better prospect. So, he's talented)

Unranked S Jamel Cook (2016 player  - recently listed Canes as his top school)

Unranked DE Nolan DeFranco (2016 player) *don't get up in a tizzy about the "unranked" part. He's 6'6" 225lbs, and rankings can change*

4-star CB Dontye Carriere-Williams(2016 player - Booker T. Washington)

4-star CB Trayvon Mullen (2016 player)

4-star WR Binjimen Victor(2016 player)

4-star OL Parker Boudreaux (2016 player)

4-star RB Deon McIntosh (2016 player)

4-star WR Darnell Salomon(2016 player)

4-star WR Brandon Johnson (2016 player - former UM catcher Charles Johnson's son)

4-star DE Brian Burns (2016 player)

4-star DE Janarious Robinson (2016 player - FSU commit)

4-star DT Keyshon Camp (2016 player) YES, A DT IS VISITING!!!!!!

And many, many more.

Al Golden said on the Joe Rose Show this week that he expect to have "the maximum number of recruits at this game...whatever that number is). So, even with the list above, there are a ton of prospects missing from this post. Could it be double, triple,, quadruple the number of guys listed in this piece? Yes. Or more.

Like we've all said since the schedule came out, this week's game is THE GAME for recruiting this season.

Now, we just have to make it count.
