Post NSD: National Class Rankings

The smoke has cleared, the faxes are quiet, and the ink is dry. Who scored the best class in the country? Where does Miami rank among the elite classes?

Some programs made late pushes. Others lost major chips.

UM, on the other hand, had a very quiet NSD.

Good thing they already had a decent class in place, and guys like Chad Thomas chose not to flip.

At the end of the day they lost a few positions but ended up right about where we thought they would.

The Miami Hurricanes Recruiting Class of 2014 is who we thought they were (Denny Green Voice).

As for the rest of the pundits,

247 put them 12th.

ESPN liked Miami's signing a little better, and sits them at 10th.

Scout, was a little behind ESPN, putting UM at 11th.

Rivals was the less impressed by one digit and rated the 'Canes class 12th. And the mother ship also liked the 12 spot in this awesome breakdown.

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide on winning the NSD National Championship for the gazillionth straight year.  Roll Tide.

So what does it all mean?

One class alone never makes or breaks a program.  But the teams that consistently string together good classes almost always find themselves at the top of the food chain.

And those that don't, well .... good luck.

Miami needs a few more classes like this one to really break through, but this haul was certainly a good start.
