Star Studded Lineup Expected for Canes Chicago Coaches Dinner

The Canes football coaching staff heads to Chicago for that city's UM alumni group's annual fundraiser this week. Coach Golden is just one of many headliners expected to be in attendance for this Thursday's event.

On May 22nd the Chicago chapter of the University of Miami Alumni Association will hold its 7th annual "Chicago Coaches Dinner.'  Each year a former UM football player has been the honoree and this year they will bestow that upon Heisman Trophy winner and national championship quarterback Gino Torretta (B.B.A. '91).

The master of ceremonies this year will be none other than UM alum and legendary sporstcaster, Roy Firestone who is noted for his emotional speeches (check out the video of him addressing the Canes football players recently). In addition to Golden, Torretta and Firestone,  other attendees expected at the event, which will be held at Chicago's Montgomery Room include Coaches Hurlie Brown and Art Kehoe as well as Hurricane Football legends:

· Ted Hendricks, '72, 2008 Guest of Honor
· Russell Maryland, A.B. '90, 2009 Guest of Honor
· Greg Olsen, A.B. '07, 2011 Guest of Honor
· Jarrett Payton, B.L.A. '04
· Clinton Portis, '02
· Jonathan Vilma, B.B.A. '04, 2013 Guest of Honor
· D.J. Williams, '06

Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on auction items, including autographed game helmets and jerseys, game tickets, travel packages, and more. The proceeds will benefit the University of Miami initiatives and provide scholarship opportunities for Chicago-area students to attend UM.

Space for the May 22 dinner is very limited. Guests can register online - registration is $225 for UM Alumni and Hurricane Club members, and $275 for non-alumni and non-Hurricane Club members. For more information of the Chicago Coaches Dinner, visit
