'Canes Baseball faces Bethune Cookman in Elimination Game

UM faces elimination, needs to win 3 straight to win their regional.

Well it's all come down to this!

Here's the scenario: The Hurricanes face Bethune Cookman at 2 PM today.  Lose and the season is over.   Win and they would face Texas Tech at 7PM. Lose that game and again the season is over.  Win and they get another crack at the Red Raiders Monday evening at 7PM in a winner take all regional final.

While winning three straight seems like a hefty task, the good news is that neither TT nor BC have the deepest of staffs, so the 'Canes may have a subtle advantage.

But Miami's bats need to wake up in a hurry.

UM Coach Jim Morris summed it up last night,

"For us, we got to swing the bat better. We’ve got to get more opportunities, and take advantage of the opportunities we do have. We didn’t get any two out hits tonight to give us a chance to score."

Added senior outfielder Dale Carey,

"I just think we’re trying to do too much. We’re putting too much pressure on ourselves. Especially me in those key situations I try to do too much. I just have to stay relaxed."

Can Carey and the 'Canes stave off a disappointing end to what has been a very nice season?

Stay tuned folks, it should be an interesting day.
