The newest commit is 2016 ILB Shaq Quarterman from Oakleaf HS (Jacksonville, FL). That is the same HS as 2014 signee Darrion Owens, in case the name of the school looked familiar.
Quarterman and a couple other Oakleaf prospects attended the Al Golden Football Camp this past weekend. Obviously, his experience was positive, as evidenced by this commitment. Quarterman chose Miami over offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, South Carolina, Tennessee and many others.
This new commitment comes just one day after Miami received a verbal from QB Jack Allison, another highly rated 2016 prospect. This now gives the Hurricanes 3 commits in the class of 2016, with 2 of them being ranked among the elite nationally. It's fair to say that the 2016 class is off to a great start, even though it is more than a year and a half until their signing day.
Wanna know why Quarterman's commitment means so much? Check out his Sophomore highlights below. They're quite impressive.
Just one more thing to say now....
