Earlier today NBC Sports, citing the Tennessean, reported that UM DB Corn Elder was considering playing Hoops.
It was also reported that Elder would talk to Miami Head Coach Jim Larranaga this week about the move.
For those who aren't aware, Elder was a sensational PG in HS and a 3 star prospect coming out of Ensworth, TN.
Corn's H.S. highlights:
Our thoughts: No disrespect to Elder, but Miami needs another under 6 foot guard about as much as Kentucky needs another 5 star McDonald's All-American. All kidding aside, I love Corn's game, but minutes would be near impossible to come by if he makes the move. Are you going to sit Angel Rodriguez? Manu Lecomte? Deandre Burnett? 4 star freshman PG JaQuan Newton played zero minutes in Miami's 60-56 win over BC yesterday, and he is 6'2. Maybe he comes in and helps run the scout team? But UM needs a big much more than another G. Fortunately for the 'Canes 6'10 Ivan Cruz Uceda will finally be eligible this weekend Vs Notre Dame.
