In desperate need of some good recruiting news, Al Golden and company got just that on Saturday afternoon when U.S. Army All-American WR Lawrence Cager (Towson, MD) committed to the Miami Hurricanes over Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Virginia Tech, among many others.

A 4-star recruit, Cager is a big receiver at 6'5" 202lbs. He is a smooth player with good ball skills and he has a chance to come in and contribute right away for the Canes.

The connection to Miami for Cager happened quickly, and was based on one thing: QB Brad Kaaya. According to an interview with SBNation Recruiting analyst Wescott Ebert earlier this week, Cager said "Miami jumped heavily into the mix for his services because of the Freshman All-American season turned in by Kaaya." So, there's the first of many instances where Kaaya has helped Miami bring in talented players in recruiting.

With a returning receiving corps that has Tyre Brady, Stacy Coley, and Darrell Langham as the "big" WRs, Cager could step in and earn his way into the rotation quickly for the Canes. That will surely be the goal for the All-American, who joins Terrell Chatman and Therell Gosier II as the WRs in this recruiting class.

What might Cager be able to do when he's on the field? Check out his HUDL highlights below for a look.

WELCOME TO THE U, LAWRENCE!!!
