Miami has been on a run of getting legacies, recruits whose father played for the Canes, to commit to upcoming recruiting classes.
After having secured the commitments of Scott Patchan (2015 signee), 2018 CB Thomas Burns (Artie's younger brother), and 2016 WR/TE Michael Irvin II, the Canes added to their legacy haul just after the big Official Visit weekend.
It is a great day to be a Cane!!!!! #Swag16

Vero Beach 4-star DE Patrick Bethel (6'3" 255lbs) is the latest legacy recruit to follow in his father's footsteps and commit to the Canes. Bethel's father Randy was a Tight End at Miami from 1988-1990, and won a National Championship with the Hurricanes in 1989.

The younger Bethel is a highly recruited player due to his size (6'3" 250lbs with a frame to support more weight) and skill (36 tackles for loss and 22 sacks in his prep career). Many feel he will be a productive collegiate player.
