UPDATE
Shirreffs to The U is now official
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Canes welcome QB Evan Shirreffs as the 21st member of UM's <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NSD15?src=hash">#NSD15</a> class <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WelcomeToTheU?src=hash">#WelcomeToTheU</a> <a href="http://t.co/RCYmaABk1t">pic.twitter.com/RCYmaABk1t</a></p>— Hurricanes Football (@CanesFootball) <a href="https://twitter.com/CanesFootball/status/563514411630202880">February 6, 2015</a></blockquote>
Shirreffs fits OC James Coley's mold as a tall QB, standing 6'6" 200lbs. He is incredibly accurate (maybe the most accurate HS QB I've ever seen), and has a live arm. He adds quality depth to the QB position, joining Malik Rosier, Gray Crow, and walk-ons Isaac Hoza and Vincent Testaverde at the position.
A 4.0 student, Shirreffs chose Miami over Columbia and the Virginia Military Institute.
