As if they needed more adversity, the University of Miami Men's Basketball Team might have just been dealt a proverbial gut punch.
Angel Rodriguez (wrist) out tonight vs. Pitt. Sheldon McClellan hurting, too: http://t.co/9NdV7ehlv0— Matt Porter (@mattyports) March 4, 2015
Angel Rodriguez out, Sheldon McClellan questionable for 'Canes vs. Pitt...http://t.co/aIzGfwZQkO— Christy Chirinos (@ChristyChirinos) March 4, 2015
Rodriguez' loss would be significant despite his sometimes woeful shooting. He is the best on the team at handling and distributing the ball.
However, UM has capable back-ups in Manu Lecomte and JaQuan Newton.
If McClellan can't go, it might be too much to overcome.
Davon Reed is a more than capable wing, but Mac had averaged over 20 a game in a recent hot stretch.
He is the 'Canes best and most efficient scorer, an underrated defender, and is second on the team in boards.
Deandre Burnett would be the likely candidate to replace his scoring/minutes.
Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
