After a 44-win regular season that saw Miami win the Coastal Division of the ACC and reach the top 10 of most major baseball rankings, the Hurricanes were awarded for their excellence by being named a top 8 National Seed for the upcoming NCAA tournament.

The #5 Canes join #3 Louisville as National Seeds from the ACC.

Previously announced to be hosting Regionals, the Canes will be the 1 seed in the Coral Gables Regional, and will be joined by 2 seed East Carolina, 3 seed Columbia and 4 seed FIU. Canes open Regionals vs. FIU on Friday night at 7pm.

Regionals are double elimination, with the winner moving on to Super Regionals.

As a top 8 National Seed, the Canes would host both Regionals and Super Regionals on the path to Omaha for the College Wold Series. The winner of the Coral Gables Regional will play the winner of the Dallas Regional in Super Regionals.

The Canes have been to the NCAA regionals for the past 43 years consecutively. It's been a rough few postseasons, however, with the last Regional victory coming back in 2010, and the last trip to Omaha for the College World Series coming back in 2008.

With 8 All-ACC players on the roster, and a wealth of veterans on the club, the Canes look to regain the glory of years past and make a triumphant return to Omaha.

Congrats to the Canes for earning a National Seed. Now, the march to Omaha begins!

GO CANES!!!!
