Miami Football 2015 Player Profile: Deon Bush

In an effort to keep even the most hardcore Miami fan up to date on their favorite players, SOTU will be running a Player Profile series. In these posts, our writers will profile players from each position that they think should get more face time. They will recap their previous year, or in some cases, preview what may be to come. That way, when the season get's here, you hopefully will have a new found love for the team on the field.

Deon Bush

Senior - S - 6'1 205 - Miami, Fl (Columbus H.S.)

2013 ALL-ACC, HONORABLE MENTION (ACSMA)

One of the best players on the team last season, collecting 53 stops, 4 TFL, 2 INT and a team high 5 forced fumbles.

Former 4 star prospect coming out of Colombus H.S. in Miami.

Runs in the 4.4 - 4.5 40 range.

Missed some time last year late with injury, and the UM defense dropped off with out him.

Is already drawing the attention of NFL Scouts, and could be a high draft pick in next year's draft:

Do it all defender:

Summary: There's not much more to be said about Bush that hasn't already been said. Very few players on the roster are more important to the success of the Miami Hurricanes than Deon Bush. He has the ability to break up or intercept passes when he drops deep, and is equally intimidating as a forceful tackler in the box.  He's also a key contributor on special teams.  Though given his importance to the D, he may see less time on ST in 2015. If he can stay healthy, 4-5 INTs, a few forced fumbles, and something close to an All-American type season are very much within the realm of possibility for Bush. For the 'Canes defense to sustain, or hopefully improve upon what they did last year, DBush will need to be a major part of things.

Stay tuned for more player profiles from SOTU as we count down to kick off.
