Tracy Howard
Way Too Early 2016 NFL Draft Profile: Tracy Howard
Way Too Early 2016 NFL Draft Profile: Tracy Howard
Senior - CB - 5'11 191 - Miramar H.S.
5 career INTs coming into his senior season, including 4 as a sophomore in 2013 when he earned honorable mention ALL-ACC.
Also has 74 career tackles and 2 forced fumbles.
Came to UM as one of the top cover corners in the country out of Miramar H.S
Had a somewhat disappointing junior campaign though, with just 1 INT.
Nonetheless should be a key part of the 2015 secondary/team.
Summary: Howard is one of the more difficult players to analyze on the entire 'Canes team. When you watch him in drills, he is smooth, athletic, focused, and just looks all around like a player who should dominate this level. His track record also is indicative of a player with fantastic ball skills. However his PT and his production (when he is in the game), do not match his skill set. It's not that Howard is a bad player by any stretch of the imagination, he just hasn't been as good as his talent would dictate. It would likely help his cause, if the coaching staff rotated their corners a little less. Artie Burns and Corn Elder are talented players in their own right, but Howard needs to be the star of the group. If there are no setbacks physically or mentally this coming season for TH, 4-6 INTs seem very doable. A big season from the former 5 star prospect would go a long way to helping Miami's defense and the team as a whole in the ACC Coastal.
