Shortly thereafter the news broke. The new commit is 2017 LB Aundre Kearney from Mandarin HS in Jacksonville, FL. Kearney has good size for this stage of development, already standing 6'0" 210lbs. He figures to grow into his body as he continues to mature.
Kearney is the 6th commit in the 2017 class, and 3rd linebacker. He joine Waynmon Steed and Tyler Dunning at the position in that class. Kearney plays both ways in HS, which is common at that level. Much like 2015 signee Charles Perry, Kearney plays RB on offense, and LB on defense.
Pulling double duty, Kearney put up nice stats in the 2014 season. He ran for nearly 770 yards and 9 touchdowns on offense, while he also made 90 tackles and 9 sacks on defense.
