Not the most sought after recruit (more than likely due to grades), but is an instinctive and physical player, who snatches the ball at its' highest point.
Chances He Redshirts (1-10) - 8
As part of this series we will evaluate if the given newcomer stands a chance to sit out his first season to retain eligibility.
Knowles looks like he could stand to fill out a little more, and S is one of the most loaded positions on the entire UM roster. Deon Bush, Dallas Crawford, Jamal Carter, fellow freshman Jaquan Johnson, and a few other players are going to be tough to supplant on the depth chart. ST could be a possibility.
Summary: The Edison H.S. product is an interesting prospect. On the one hand he was not highly recruited coming out of H.S. On the other hand well neither was Ed Reed. While that may be an unfair comparison, I really like how he attacks the ball on film, and he is a hard tackler to boot. If he gets bigger, stronger, and faster he could be a factor in the UM defensive back field in a year or two. For now he seems a strong candidate to RS. Knowles is definitely a sleeper worth watching, even if he does not see the field much or at all in 2015.
