Miami Freshman Profile: Bar Milo

In an effort to keep even the most hardcore Miami fan up to date on their favorite players, SOTU will be running a Freshman Profile series. In these posts, our writers will profile UM's newcomers for 2015. That way, when the season get's here, you hopefully will have a new found love for the team on the field.

Bar Milo

OL - 6'6 285 - West Hills, Ca (Chaminade)

Chose the Hurricanes over Arizona State, Duke, and Washington among others.

Former H.S. teammate of starting UM QB Brad Kaaya.

Best attribute based on his film is his pure mauling ability.  Though his technique is also not too shabby.

Chances he redshirts 1-10  - 5

As part of this series we will evaluate if the given newcomer stands a chance to sit out his first season to retain eligibility.

On the one hand, UM's offensive line needs depth in the worst way.

On the other, Milo looks like he needs some seasoning and a little more bulk/work in the weight room.

Will he be good enough to surpass reserves like G's Hunter Wells, Hunter Knighton, Alex Gall and T Sunny Odogwu during fall camp?

In order to see the field, he will need to.  It not not out of the realm of possibility, but seems 50/50 at this stage. He is definitely not as game ready as Tyree St.Louis at this stage of his career.

Summary: Milo plays the game with a mean streak reminiscent of former UM OL Taylor Gadbois. Like Gadbois his best position is probably T. He looks a little too lean for G. If the 'Canes can stash him away for a year (RS) and get him a little stronger and more polished, he has the potential to be a pretty good player. If he is forced into action this year, it might not be the best thing for the offense or his buddy Kaaya.
