Miami Football to hold 1st Scrimmage Tonight

New, 5 comments

Details Courtesy UM:

Today: Scrimmage No. 1 (practice closed). Following practice, head Coach Al Golden and requested players will be available. The scrimmage begins at 7 p.m. and will end at approximately 8:50 p.m.

We expect a report from Miami and of course Coach Golden will provide details. But since it is closed to the media do not expect anything earth shattering to be revealed.

The most important thing in an intrasquad scrimmage is that the team is that the team come away healthy.

But the competition along the offensive line where freshman Tyree St Louis is pushing the veterans for a T spot is also important.  Al Golden recently called the offensive line development,  "most exciting thing on the team."

Listen closely for details there post scrimmage, as this will be the first time these guys face UM's formidable front 7 in a live competitive game situation.

UM's RB situation where Gus Edwards, Joe Yearby, freshman Mark Walton, and Trayone Gray are all vying for carries could also start to take form starting tonight.

There will be plenty of other battles we'll be sure to address in the coming days and after tonight.

We'll also provide any stats should they be given to us by the school.

For all the details post scrimmage, be sure to follow the best and brightest of the Media on the stream below:
