Last week, we highlighted how several Canes commits did in their preseason classics. Now that the real games are here, we have to keep you updated, right?
Right.
So, here we go:
WR commit Sam Bruce was a dominant force for St. Thomas Aquinas. Bruce had 3 catches for 63 yards and 2 TDs, 3 rushes for 28 yards, and a kick return for 22 yards as the Raiders ran roughshod over Booker T. Washington, ending their 41-game win streak with a 35-3 victory.
Here are pics of Bruce throwing up the U after his TDs

And here are the HL's. Yeah, he's good.

The coaches sent out a pregame tweet about QB Jack Allison, LB Shaq Quarterman, and LB Michael Pinckney, wishing them luck. As those 3 have signed Grant-in-aid Agreements, the staff can mention them by name publicly, which is a big bonus for the Canes.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Shaq, Jack & Mike - As you start your senior year, have a GREAT night and a AMAZING season! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Swag16?src=hash">#Swag16</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GoCanes?src=hash">#GoCanes</a> <a href="http://t.co/NSqi0Gu108">pic.twitter.com/NSqi0Gu108</a></p>— Al Golden (@GoldenAl) <a href="https://twitter.com/GoldenAl/status/637346508124385280">August 28, 2015</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
And then, after all 3 players' teams won their games, Canes staff had a congratulatory tweet as well
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Congrats to Shaq, Jack, and Mike on their victories yesterday!!!! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Swag16?src=hash">#Swag16</a> <a href="http://t.co/B6oeV3VK4t">pic.twitter.com/B6oeV3VK4t</a></p>— Eric Josephs (@EJo305) <a href="https://twitter.com/EJo305/status/637746673687621632">August 29, 2015</a></blockquote>
For his part, Allison was an efficient leader of his team.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Elite11?src=hash">#Elite11</a> semifinalist and <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Miami?src=hash">#Miami</a> commit Jack Allison (<a href="https://twitter.com/Jackof2016">@Jackof2016</a>) hit 13-of-19 for 138 yards & a TD in 31-21 win Friday <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TheU?src=hash">#TheU</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Swag16?src=hash">#Swag16</a></p>— Brian Stumpf⚡️ (@Stumpf_Brian) <a href="https://twitter.com/Stumpf_Brian/status/637648957619994624">August 29, 2015</a></blockquote>
Quarterman's Oakleaf team won 21-0 in a game shortened by lightning in the area.
Pinckney's Raines team won 39-0.
In a game that featured many Canes recruits, RB commit Travis Homer led his Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves obliterated Gulliver Prep, winning 46-0. Gulliver, who boasts Canes commits DE Joseph Jackson, S Cedrick Wright, and 2017 RB Robert Burns, were simply outclassed by Homer's ThunderWolves.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Officially, Homer finished with 12 carries for 90 yards and the two scores. For those who follow recruiting, you're probably wondering why I didn't mention WR commit Dionte Mullins on the Gulliver team. See the next tweet for the reason why:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">UM commit Dionte Mullins academically ineligible for Gulliver. He's finishing a summer course. Hopefully Mullins' academic issues are resolved shortly.
Both Homer and Jackson had video interviews post game. Here are both of them:

WR commit Ahmmon Richards started his game on Friday off with a bang, scoring on this 34yd TD on the first drive of the night.

Unfortunately for Richards and his Wellington team, that was the only scoring play they'd have on the night, ending up falling to Delray Beach Atlantic HS 49-7.
RB commit Zack Moss traveled to Georgia with the Hallandale Chargers to play in the Battle of the Borders classic. Hallandale beat Cedar Grove (GA) 34-26. Moss was a key part to the victory, scoring 2 TDs on the night (1 rushing, 1 receiving). See them both for yourself:

Clewiston WR Reginald Henderson, and underrated recruit due to having missed 2 years of HSFB because of academic issues, had a good game on Friday.

Outside of those guys, Deerfield Beach DB James Pierre and South Dade DB James Wiggins both said they're solid to the Canes. Both of their teams were victorious on Friday night.
Another solid week for Miami recruits. I'll take it.
